Privacy policy

The short version
Hedgehog Bits does not collect, store or share any personal data. Everything you put in the app stays on your iPhone.
The app
- No data collection. The app has no servers, accounts, analytics, crash reporting services or advertising. It does not send your data anywhere.
- On-device storage. Notes, photos, videos and files you add are encrypted and stored only on your iPhone. They are excluded from iCloud and computer backups.
- Game scores. Personal best scores are stored on the device, like any casual game.
- Names typed at the start screen are kept in memory only and never saved.
- Backups. If you export a backup, the encrypted file goes only where you choose to save it. We never receive it.
Permissions
The app asks for these only when you use the related feature:

| Photo library | To import items and, if you choose, remove the originals after they are safely in the vault. |
Purchases
Hedgehog Bits Plus is sold through the App Store, and Apple handles the payment. We never receive your name, email address or payment details. The app checks your purchases on your iPhone with Apple’s StoreKit. This is the only time the app connects to the internet, and it connects to Apple, not to us. See Apple’s privacy policy.
Deleting your data
Everything is on your iPhone, so you are in control of it. You can erase the vault from the app’s settings, and deleting the app removes all of its data. We hold no copy, so there is nothing for us to delete or hand over.
Your rights
Under UK and EU data protection law (UK GDPR and GDPR) you have rights over personal data held about you. Hedgehog Bits does not collect or hold any personal data, so there is no data of yours that we can access, correct, export or delete.
This website
- This site is hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub may log technical information such as IP addresses to operate and secure the service. See GitHub’s privacy statement.
- The site uses no cookies, no analytics and no third-party scripts or fonts.
Children
The app does not collect data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
